The specialty of Periodontology or simply, Periodontics, is the specialty of dentistry that studies and treats the supporting and surrounding structures of teeth, and its substitutes. It is one of only two dental specialties that has been recognized by the ADA for surgically  training dentist to manipulate the gum tissue and bone tissue in dental care in the US. So naturally periodontists have became the leaders in Dental Implantology in procedures like dental implant placement, bone grafting, soft tissue grafting and sinus lifts and so on.

Not only that, Periodontist have been treating periodontitis of natural teeth since the dawn of antibiotics, so their research and knowledge of treating such bacterial-induced diseases have automatically became relevant for modern day treatment, care, and maintenance of artificial dentition, as in dental implants and its subsequent treatment of peri-implantitis.

After graduating from Columbia University for the second time, Dr. Choi worked in several private and corporate practices in multi-specialty settings.  He has served patients from dental clinics and Implant Centers located at Midtown & Uptown Manhattan, Fort Lee, NJ, Bay St. Staten Island NY with Dr. S.H. Brenman DMD, Cherry Hill, NJ: (Voorhees, NJ, Deptford, NJ) with Dental Solutions, Passaic, NJ with Dr. M. Weiner DDS, Flemington, NJ with Eastern Dental, Hackensack, NJ with Eastern Dental, Norwood, NJ via referrals, and finally at Englewood Cliffs, NJ via referrals. 

Dr. Choi was also the chief dental surgeon at multiple Dental Implant Centers, across NY & NJ, where he has honed his surgical skills and developed his procedures as a periodontal surgeon. Combining years of experience with extensive knowledge, Dr. Choi has and is dedicated to providing quality dental care services to the residents of NY/NJ/PA.

This has allowed him to be involved in treatment of patients from all different walks of life, as well as patients with multiple types of implants already placed and from diverse implant manufacturers, which lead to working with numerous dental implant manufacturers, and ultimately exposed him to diverse and detailed knowledge of different instrument kits, various types of bone graft materials from different Brands and Tissue Banks, and multitude of dental equipments.
